Field Installed Welded Storage Tanks

Field installed welded steel tanks are typically much larger than shop fabricated steel storage tanks which can be shipped to the site in one piece, thus requiring field welding to complete the tank installation.  These larger tanks are constructed in sections at the shop.  The sections are then shipped to the site and prepared there.  The field installation process involves welding the sections together, as well as the addition of all connections and peripherals, plus final painting.

UIG will manage the various environmental concerns and regulations associated with these operations.  Our experienced crews will complete the tank and system installation and thoroughly test them before being handed over to your staff.

Peripheral Equipment

Field welded tanks may only require a simple connection to the piping systems to be ready for use or, in contrast, they may be part of complex systems requiring installation of pumps, valves and other equipment prior to full operation.

They may be joined together by overhead walkways and require external stairways and/or external and internal ladders, perimeter guard rails, shell and deck man-ways, vents and numerous inlets, outlets and monitoring points.

In either case, UIG brings expert design and construction skills to your project.  Our design team will determine the size and capacities of your welded tank and for all accessories – piping, pumps, valves and more – to meet your needs. Then UIG will provide our experienced crews to install your complete system.
